Born and raised in Los Angeles, Shawn Butcher found his passion
for filmmaking early on.

His first experience came from documenting family trips between ages four and ten.
At age eleven he purchased his own video camera and moved on to making skate videos, guerrilla short films, and began teaching himself how to edit.
Film has since become his life's ambition.

Majoring in art and film studies, he studied filmmaking, photography, and editing for four years in Oregon. He then returned home and began work as a freelance editor and videographer for the next two years, working in all areas
including feature films, live concerts and documentaries abroad.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Shawn works as a director and producer
to provide financial support for his addiction to drum-playing and sushi.
